You’ll Never Guess What A Juice Cleanse Can Do For Your Body

Some health and wellness experts believe that the body has the innate ability to heal itself. However, due to the combination of poor dietary choices, lack of exercise, a sedentary life, and lack of adequate sleep and rest, this innate ability has become hampered. In turn, this has resulted in people becoming more prone to a variety of maladies, including lifestyle diseases like obesity, diabetes and heart disease.

Enter juice cleanses

Reversing the effects of an unhealthy lifestyle entails a few key changes. One powerful tool that you can use to reverse these adverse side-effects and jumpstart your way to a healthier lifestyle is a juice cleanse.

Juice cleanses work by providing the body with vital nutrients and antioxidants which aid in the removal of toxins that have accumulated inside it over the course of the years.

Benefits of juice cleanses

Juicing offers several benefits, especially to your digestive system.

For one, it can give your stomach much-needed rest. Furthermore, juicing can help restore the balance in your gut’s microbiome which may have been adversely affected by poor diet, stress and medications. 

Juice cleanses also benefit the liver. Your liver works overtime to eliminate toxins from your body. But if your diet consists mainly of unhealthy fare, it may not be capable of keeping up with the workload.

And as previously mentioned, juicing can provide your body with much-needed nutrients and antioxidants.

In turn, these benefits can translate to other positive effects including weight loss, energy boost, healing of cells and reduced physical problems like headaches and bloating.

How to do a juice cleanse

Cleansing your body with juices is a three-stage process. First, you have to undergo a three-day pre-cleanse. At this stage, you must drink at least eight glasses of water while eliminating unhealthy food from your diet. 

During the actual cleanse day itself, you begin the day with a glass of water with lemon. After that, you will consume six juices within two-hour intervals. 

During this point, try to limit your physical activities. You may still exercise, but again, try to keep it light. You can do yoga, walking and some light stretches. Note that during this time, your energy levels may be low.

This stage is followed by a three-day post-cleanse. During the first day, you need to add more fruits and veggies to your diet and continue drinking eight glasses of water. On day two, you can add nuts and grains, and on the final day, you can eat meats, fish and grains.
