Before we get to colon cleanse products, you should know that the practice of colon cleansing dates back to ancient Greece. It became popular in the US during the 20s and 30s, but faded away after the theories supporting it lost their appeal. Recently, though, colon cleansing has resurfaced again.
There are two main ways for colon-cleansing:
- Consulting a practitioner to get a colon irrigation;
- Buying products.
What Are Colon Cleanse Products?
These products usually consist of powdered or liquid supplements that include: enemas, laxatives, herbal teas, enzymes and magnesium. Some are administered orally, others are inserted in one’s rectum.
Either way, their purpose is to help the colon expel its contents. You can find colon cleanse products on the internet, in pharmacies, in health food stores or supermarkets. What products are best and tested by many people?
To avoid potential conflicts between facts and marketing, I tried to avoid websites that sell these products and based this list on the customers’ reviews.
- Amazon’s Super Colon cleanse – It is available as both capsules and powder, allowing you to choose what is better for you. It is made from Senna leaf, Psyllium Husk and Acidophilus and stimulates contractions throughout the colon to help move the waste through the digestive system. It absorbs water in the intestine and creates a gel-like substance to remove the waste build up, providing good bacteria to replenish the digestive track and eradicating any unwanted and harmful bacteria from the system.
- OXY-Colon Cleanse kit – The kit includes two supplements, Oxy-Powder and Latero-Flora. The former provides oxygenation because of its content of Elemental magnesium and the latter provides beneficial bacteria through Brevibacillus Laterosporus.
- Bowtrol’s Colon Control – It was designed to control and restore healthy and comfortable bowel movements. It utilizes activated charcoal, potassium and iron to help decrease bowel irritation and loose stool, binding the toxics in the digestive system so that they can no longer be absorbed. Instead, they form a gel-like substance by absorbing water and they act as a laxative agent, carrying the toxins out of the body.
Of course, only you can choose which method is better for you and which colon cleanse products.
