Constipation Remedies – Useful Tips- Part One

By Body Health Guide

cleansing the colon

Constipation can be a very frustrating condition, which appears unexpectedly and it comes as a direct result of one’s lifestyle and eating habits. If there is no fiber intake in your everyday diet, it is most likely that constipation will occur. Fiber is the most important ingredient, which will protect your digestion, ensuring healthy bowel movements every day. Being part of a fast food nation, consuming many unhealthy quick foods, sandwiches and hamburgers means that dietary fiber is totally lacking from your diet. Therefore, constipation can settle in and it is unlikely that your condition will get better unless you decide to make a change in your eating habits.

The next reason why you might struggle with constipation is if you do not drink enough fluids. You must consume at least two liters of water a day, so that your body is correctly hydrated, and constipation can be avoided as a condition. The lack of physical exercise seems to be third in importance. If you lead a very sedentary life, sitting in front of your computer half of the day, while the other half spending it behind the wheel and in front of your TV set, you are most likely to develop constipation. Introduce physical exercise in your everyday schedule, even if for 20 minutes a day. Physical exercise will truly help your bowel movements, so that you can get rid of constipation.

Here is what you can additionally do to help relieve constipation: eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, which are rich in dietary fiber. Eat less meat, and more healthy leafy greens. You will feel better, move better and your digestion will work much better. However, do not start suddenly with very large amounts of fiber, but take it slowly. Incorporate the fiber intake in your everyday meals slowly, and eliminate those foods, which are not healthy such as sweets or meat products. An equilibrated diet will help you avoid constipation for sure!
