Beauty Potions: 3 Detox Drinks That Will Unleash the Pretty Woman In You

By Body Health Guide

Most all women (despite the fact that we are all born with natural beauty) love the process of transforming from feeling blech to beautiful (blame it on the fairy tales and Hollywood movies that romanticize the process itself by introducing a fairy godmother, or that insanely wealthy beau who can turn any “hot mess” feeling woman into a princess or the prom queen). In this day and age, though, it’s deemed rather backward to wait around for somebody to make it happen, because if you’re a woman, and you have the ability to finance your personal care, feeling like a goddess is simply about taking matters into your own hands.

There’s a bounty of readily available services for beautification out there, and in this age of information, practically every nugget of wisdom to serve your personal goals is easily within reach. If you’re looking for ways to change your look, whipping up your own batch of beauty potions (like a good witch) will not be that hard to do. To get you started, here are three detox drinks that will surely unleash the “Pretty Woman” in you, or to “Bibbidi-Bobbiti-Boo” you to feeling great:

  1. Cucumber, lemon and mint detox water – Lemon has always been known as a great detoxifying agent. If you have lemon water in the morning, you’ll have no trouble voiding and urinating. Add cucumber and mint for a boost of freshness and your skin will thank you. Cucumber has anti-inflammatory properties; ditto with mint. You can control those face demons (zits and redness) with this detoxifying beverage.
  2. Green juice – Make this with cucumbers, celery, carrots, beets and parsley. Seems horrid? Well, not all potions taste great, but this green juice can calm your complexion and fight free radicals that can make your skin look dull and even scaly. Have this concoction whenever you’re battling rosacea and sensitivity, and your skin will look radiant and healthy again.
  3. Green tea – This is a favorite beverage in Asia, where the DiCaprio-like-symptoms of perpetual youth are commonly commented on as running rampant. This mild flavored beverage has always been known to rid the body of impurities (it’s a diuretic that is also effective for weight management). Further studies reveal that it appears to exert sun damage protection by “quenching free radicals and reducing inflammation.” It not only detoxifies the skin, but can also actually protect it from all sorts of harmful elements that make skin lackluster. You can also enjoy green tea as a facial mist and it will protect your skin from UV rays and control inflammation (due to the caffeine content).

Ultimately, how you feel about how you look is completely in your hands, or rather, your mind. Perspective is absolutely everything. However, sipping one of  these “elixirs” while meditating on your inner and exterior beauty certainly isn’t going to hurt!
